Amnon Schreiber, the sister of released hostage Avinatan Or, was moderately injured in a serious car accident in the West Bank on Monday. According to Schreiber, the crash occurred near the Rehalim junction when she swerved to avoid Arabs throwing stones at her vehicle, causing her to veer off the road.
Schreiber is hospitalized at Beilinson Hospital with spinal fractures and severe injuries, though her family stated she does not require surgery and her life is not in danger. The family has asked the public to pray for her recovery, identifying her as Amnon bat Ditsa Tirtza.
Avinatan Or was abducted by Hamas from the Nova music festival on October 7, 2023, and held captive for 738 days before returning to Israel in October 2025 as part of a hostage deal. During his captivity, he was held alone in harsh conditions and reportedly attempted to escape, including digging a tunnel with his hands. He has since shared his experiences and is reportedly writing a book about his ordeal.
The incident involving Schreiber highlights the ongoing threat of Arab terrorism in Judea and Samaria, characterized by stone-throwing, Molotov cocktail attacks, and shooting incidents on the region's roads. Earlier on Monday, another Israeli woman was lightly injured and suffered facial injuries from stone-throwing near the village of Asawiya, south of Rehalim.
