Mother and Four Children Rescued From Emanuel Apartment Fire

A mother and her four children were rescued from a burning apartment in Emanuel, located in the Samaria region, on Monday after becoming trapped inside the structure. Firefighters and volunteers from the regional Samaria station responded to the scene and found an active fire in the children's room. According to neighbor accounts, the mother had locked herself and her children in an inner room to escape the smoke. Firefighters entered the apartment amidst intense heat and smoke, reached the family, and evacuated them safely. The mother and children were transferred for medical evaluation. Simultaneously, other teams worked to extinguish the fire in the children's room, completing the firefighting operations and clearing the smoke from the building. Omer Hamad, who commanded the incident, stated, "Upon arrival, we identified heavy smoke rising from one of the apartments, and neighbors told us the mother had locked herself in an inner room with her children to escape the smoke. The firefighters immediately entered under intense heat and smoke, safely rescued the entire family, and quickly controlled the fire." Following the incident, the Israel Fire and Rescue Services emphasized the importance of installing smoke detectors in homes, noting that independent detectors can alert residents to a fire in its early stages, allowing for timely escape and saving lives.
