WhatsApp is rolling out a new feature allowing users to create and save usernames, enabling contact without revealing phone numbers. For most users, the username will remain private and shared only with chosen contacts. Additionally, WhatsApp will offer an optional unique key for an extra layer of security; new contacts must enter this key when initiating communication via username, providing users with greater control over who can reach them.
