Partner's Father Arrested in Yana Zykova Murder Investigation

Israeli police have arrested the father of the partner of Yana Zykova, who was fatally stabbed in her apartment in Kiryat Haim on Friday. The father, who was present in the apartment at the time of the murder, initially arrived to give testimony but was subsequently questioned under caution and detained. He and his son, Zykova's partner, are both suspected of her murder and deny any involvement. The two men, aged in their 30s and 60s, were interrogated by the Central Unit of the Asher District and are being held on suspicion of involvement in the homicide. Police are seeking to extend their detention by 10 days. Zykova, 43, was found with no pulse and no breathing, and with injuries to her body, after emergency services were called to the scene following a report of a serious violent incident. Zykova's six-year-old son was a witness to the murder and has been placed under the care of municipal welfare services, with authorities seeking extended family or emergency arrangements for him.
