Hapoel Rishon LeZion, currently in the National League, is preparing to make a significant offer to acquire free agent midfielder Michael Ohana. The move is spearheaded by new club sponsors and co-managers Dudu and Natali Vaturi, who have already invested NIS 650,000 in the team this season and recently signed former Maccabi Petah Tikva captain Mohamed Hindi.
The Vaturis are keen to further strengthen the squad with the goal of promotion to the Premier League. While considering both Rotem Hatuel and Michael Ohana, coach Elad Brown ultimately favored Ohana. The club plans to approach Ohana this week. Ohana, who previously played for Maccabi Haifa, has not yet signed with a team for the upcoming season, despite interest from other National League clubs and a substantial offer from his youth club, MS Ashdod, where negotiations have stalled.
Ohana has expressed a desire to play in the Premier League but is awaiting a suitable offer. A source close to the Vaturi family stated that Dudu Vaturi will contact Ohana this week, and if the player is willing and his financial demands are reasonable, he will join Rishon LeZion. The Vaturis believe Ohana's caliber can reignite fan interest and aid the team's promotion aspirations.
