A shooting attack targeting a military outpost near the settlement of Telem, west of Hebron, on Friday morning resulted in five Israeli soldiers being wounded, two critically, one seriously, and two lightly. Israeli media reported that all casualties were soldiers.

The Israeli military announced that the two assailants were killed after a pursuit following the attack. The military stated that the attackers were residents of Hebron. Initial reports indicated that the shooting lasted for over 20 minutes, complicating rescue efforts.

Magen David Adom paramedics treated the wounded at the scene before transporting them to hospitals. One paramedic described a difficult scene with ongoing gunfire, noting the evacuation of a man in his twenties who was unconscious with critical gunshot wounds, and others with serious and light injuries.

Following the incident, Israeli forces launched a large-scale search operation and pursued the attackers, eventually killing them. Roads were closed, and a strict military cordon was imposed on Hebron. The military also reported finding a large quantity of ammunition in the attackers' vehicle, suggesting a potentially more serious attack was thwarted.

Israeli news outlets claimed one of the attackers was affiliated with Hamas, and that the organization had welcomed the operation. The Chief of Staff, Ayall Zamir, visited the site and ordered reinforcements for the Central Command.
