A federal court in Tennessee has sentenced 28-year-old Reagan Darby Preiter to 17.5 years in prison for attempting to aid the terrorist organization Hezbollah and for racially motivated arson. The U.S. Department of Justice announced the sentence on October 20.

According to court documents, in 2019, Preiter provided a document believed to contain the personal information of over 35,000 individuals connected to Israeli government structures to an individual he thought was linked to Hezbollah. He allegedly instructed them to "start the hunt." The document may have included data on government employees and civilians.

Preiter also pleaded guilty to setting fire to the Highlander Research and Education Center in New Market, Tennessee, in March 2019, using a homemade napalm-based incendiary device. Before the arson, he spray-painted the symbol of the Romanian fascist Iron Guard organization on the center's parking lot. Preiter admitted his actions were driven by white supremacist beliefs.

The fire destroyed the center's building, causing over $1.2 million in damages. Preiter had pleaded guilty to arson and attempting to provide material support to a foreign terrorist organization in April 2026. In addition to his prison sentence, he will be subject to three years of supervised release and ordered to pay $1.289 million in restitution.
