An elite Israeli police unit, Yamam, successfully rescued a woman who was threatening to jump from an 11th-floor apartment window. The woman had barricaded herself inside her apartment and then emerged, standing on the exterior windowsill.
Police officers attempted to de-escalate the situation by communicating with her from the apartment below, trying to dissuade her from suicide. Simultaneously, Yamam's "A-Kofim" (monkeys) unit, specializing in high-altitude operations, prepared for a complex rescue.
Using ropes, the Yamam operatives rappelled from the building's roof to the 11th-floor window. They quickly gained control of the situation and safely brought the woman to safety. No one was injured during the operation, and the circumstances of the incident are under investigation.
