Terminal X Coupon Codes: What They Apply To and When Sales Are Best

Israeli online retailer Terminal X offers two distinct discount pathways: sales, which reduce the price directly on an item, and coupon codes, entered at checkout. Generally, each item is eligible for only one discount type. Free coupon aggregator "Kuponim B'חינם" also lists general store-wide discounts alongside specific coupon codes. This article examines how these two discount methods interact, focusing on whether coupon codes can be applied to sale items.

According to Terminal X's regulations, specifically section 25, coupon codes cannot be used on sale items unless the code explicitly states it includes double promotions. This section also clarifies that discounts and benefits cannot be combined on items unless otherwise specified, and coupons are only redeemable online. An exception is the "Mastercard Day" code, which offers a 50 NIS discount on purchases of 250 NIS or more, explicitly including double promotions and discounts but not coupon stacking. This code is valid only on the 10th of each month for registered users until supplies last.

Items marked with a crossed-out price and a percentage tag receive the automatic sale discount. "Kuponim B'חינם" compiles active Terminal X coupon codes and their conditions. Beyond percentage sales, Terminal X also runs quantity-based promotions, such as three items for 99.90 NIS on children's clothing. However, the DREAM CARD club's help page states that coupons are not valid on quantity deals unless the campaign specifies otherwise.

A test purchase included a BIODERMA micellar water on sale for 103.92 NIS (originally 129.90 NIS) and Nike sneakers at full price for 249.90 NIS. The sale discount was applied automatically, resulting in a subtotal of 379.80 NIS, with a 25.98 NIS discount, and a final payable amount of 353.82 NIS, including free shipping. Attempting to apply a "DREAM DAYS" coupon code for 30% off the sneakers was rejected, as it required a "DREAM CARD VIP" credit card. The Mastercard code was also invalid on a day other than the 10th of the month.

Three types of coupon codes were identified: DREAM DAYS codes offer 30% to 50% off specific brands with a DREAM CARD VIP payment; the Mastercard Day code provides 50 NIS off purchases over 250 NIS on the 10th of the month for registered users, and it's the only one that allows stacking with other promotions (but not other coupons); and the newsletter code offers 10% off for new subscribers, without stacking. DREAM DAYS and newsletter codes do not apply to sale items. The Mastercard Day code can be combined with sales but not with other coupons. Each coupon is for single use.

DREAM CARD members accumulate 10% points on their spending and receive a birthday gift of 30% off up to 500 NIS. DREAM CARD VIP members get 15% points and a birthday discount cap of 1,000 NIS. These birthday offers are valid until the end of the birth month and for single use, and not for those who join in their birth month. Exclusive club benefits do not stack with other promotions. Brands eligible for VIP card benefits include Fox, Mango, American Eagle, and others.

Sale discounts are applied automatically. While DREAM DAYS and newsletter codes don't combine with sales, codes designated for double promotions, like the Mastercard Day code, can add further discounts. The test did not include the Mastercard Day code as it was not the 10th of the month. The BIODERMA oil saved 25.98 NIS automatically. For full-priced items, the decision depends on the credit card used. A 30% code would save 74.97 NIS on the Nike sneakers, but only for DREAM CARD VIP holders. Without that card, options include the newsletter code for new subscribers or the Mastercard code on the 10th. On the 10th, Mastercard users can benefit from both the sale and the 50 NIS discount. On other days, non-VIP cardholders compare sale prices against full-price items with a newsletter code, if eligible.

Terminal X also offers a "My Credit" system, where one credit equals one shekel. These credits can be used with double promotions and benefits, meaning they can be applied to sale items, unlike DREAM DAYS and newsletter codes. Purchase vouchers are converted into credit, which requires site login and is non-reversible, with validity periods of two to five years. Shipping fees are calculated after the sale discount. Free home delivery is available for orders over 249 NIS. The shipping threshold is based on the price after the sale discount, not the original price.

Returns are possible within 50 days for most items in new, original packaging, and 14 days for HOME category and electronics. Returns with a courier cost 14.90 NIS unless the order exceeds 500 NIS, or can be done via mail for free. When an item is returned that was purchased with a discount or coupon, the refund amount is the price paid after the discount, with no refund for the coupon itself.

Before payment, customers should check if an item is marked as sale or part of a quantity deal (limiting coupon use), if the code requires a specific card or day, if there's available credit that applies to sale items, the post-sale cart total relative to shipping thresholds, and the return period.
