Anorthosis Spokesperson: Barak Itzhaki Meets All Criteria

Anorthosis, currently last in the Cypriot league, has appointed Barak Itzhaki as its new coach. Club spokesperson Charalambos Perpetas stated in an interview that Itzhaki meets all the criteria for the role and that the club expects him to have an immediate positive impact. The decision to part ways with the previous coach, Nestor El Maestro, was made because the team was not meeting expectations, according to Perpetas. He explained that the management believed a change was necessary for the team to perform at a level reflecting the efforts made at all levels, and that the players' abilities are higher than what they have shown so far.

Perpetas highlighted Itzhaki's advantage of having previously played for Anorthosis during the 2012/13 season, noting that he understands the club's weight and status, as well as the Cypriot league. The spokesperson emphasized that the club expects an immediate change, not just psychologically. Itzhaki was chosen because he meets all criteria, including his proven ability to improve morale, citing his successful tenure at Beitar Jerusalem where he led the team from a difficult situation to fourth place and then second place the following season. He has received excellent recommendations.

Ahead of the upcoming match against Omonia Aradippou on Saturday, Perpetas sent a clear message to the players, stating that responsibility lies with everyone and that an immediate reaction is required. He stressed the desire to start a new chapter with passion and maximum effort, emphasizing that actions on the field are more important than words.
