The Offspring Guitarist Noodles Steps Away From Touring Due to Serious Health Issue

Kevin John Wasserman, known as Noodles, the lead guitarist for the veteran punk band The Offspring, has announced he will be taking an indefinite break from live performances due to a "fairly serious" health issue. The 63-year-old musician shared the news on Instagram, stating he needs to step away to address the sudden and significant health problem without providing further details about his diagnosis or expected return date.

Noodles expressed his regret in his announcement, writing, "With deep regret I have to announce that I need to take a break from live performances to deal with a sudden and fairly serious health issue." He added that his bandmates are supportive and will continue performing in his absence, and he hopes to return to the stage as soon as possible. He concluded by thanking fans for their well wishes and support.

Just days before his announcement, Noodles performed with the band in San Diego on Sunday. The Offspring has several upcoming shows scheduled, including dates in Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Garden Grove, and Mexico City through January 2025.

The Offspring, formed in 1984 in Orange County, California, is known for hits like "Pretty Fly (For A White Guy)" and "Come Out and Play." Noodles joined the band a year after its formation and has been a consistent member. The band has released 11 studio albums, sold over 45 million records worldwide, and is credited with bringing punk rock into the mainstream in the 1990s. Their 1994 album "Smash" was a major success, selling over 11 million copies globally and receiving multi-platinum certification.

The band last performed in Israel in July 2023 at Expo Tel Aviv.
