Likud MK Eliyahu Revivo sharply attacked MK Tali Gottlieb in an interview yesterday (Wednesday) on “Ofthei et Shay,” saying, “For years I and many of my friends have been convinced that she is a proxy of the left. There is no damage the left could have done to us greater than planting this troublemaker in our party.”

When told that Gottlieb may sue him over his remarks, Revivo replied, “I have been asking her for eight months to waive her immunity, I will waive my immunity, and we will meet in court.”

As a reminder, Revivo’s comments come against the backdrop of a series of hearings in the Constitution, Law and Justice Committee, following Gottlieb’s request that the Knesset grant her immunity from the indictment filed against her by the attorney general.

Criticism of Gottlieb intensified following her appearances in the Constitution, Law and Justice Committee during the hearings on her immunity request. In Likud, some say that her conduct and the high-profile confrontations surrounding the affair are diverting attention from other issues and providing ammunition to the political rivals of the national camp.
