Knesset Member Tally Gotliv attacked Attorney General Gali Baharav-Miara this morning (Tuesday) during the Knesset Committee debate on Gotliv's immunity. The discussion came against the backdrop of the indictment filed against Gotliv over the disclosure of the details of a senior Shin Bet officer, the husband of protest leader Shikma Bressler. During her remarks, Gotliv told Baharav-Miara that she was "persecuting" her, and added that the legal advisory system was "acting like a criminal organization."

Judge Edna Kaplan Hagler, formerly deputy president of the District Court, responded to the Knesset member's remarks: "Tally Gotliv appeared before me when I was sitting on the bench and she then had respect for the court. How can she come like this and scream at the attorney general? They themselves are a criminal organization. We need to stop the deterioration. I am worried this will lead to violence. There is incitement that led to a pogrom at Judge Solberg's home. We have had enough of Rabin's assassination."

Later in the debate, Knesset members Yosef Taieb and Moshe Abutbul of Shas also attacked the attorney general in a similar tone: "Stop persecuting Torah scholars! Stop harming mothers and starving children!" Following the commotion, the attorney general stood up and left the committee.

In a morning interview with Kavanovic on KAN News on Reshet Bet, Likud Knesset member Moshe Passal said that the information that Shikma Bressler's husband is a senior Shin Bet officer was "extremely vital to the public," because he is Bressler's husband. Therefore, Passal argued that Gotliv's disclosure of his identity was part of "fulfilling her role."

Opposition Knesset member Merav Ben Ari responded to Passal: "Answer why you agree to expose a Shin Bet officer. You keep talking nonsense about the attorney general, the military advocate general and the prosecution. Enough! The woman (Gotliv) published the name of a Shin Bet officer and endangered our security and the security of the state." Passal replied that the publication "brought great benefit to the public," after claiming that in Bressler's statements during the protest movement, she relied on internal information and also echoed the conspiracy theory that "on October 7 the state was sold, בדיוק כפי ששקמה ברסלר חשפה."
