Maccabi Haifa Nears Completion of Complex Deal to Sign Brazilian Midfielder Brunninho
Maccabi Haifa is finalizing a three-way transfer deal to acquire Brazilian midfielder Brunninho, with plans for him to join the team’s training camp in Hungary starting tomorrow, June 30, 2026. The club announced yesterday that they have reached an agreement with Brunninho, whose renewed negotiations were first reported by Sport 5. The deal involves not only Brunninho’s current club, Karpaty Lviv, but also Atletico Mineiro, which retains a percentage of any future sale.
Brunninho expressed a strong desire to move to Israel as early as January and will benefit financially from the transfer. Coach Barak Bachar specifically requested the player, seeing him as a key solution for the attacking midfield position. Once all final details with the involved clubs are settled, Brunninho will undergo medical examinations before joining his new teammates at the training camp.
Maccabi Haifa paid 1.6 million euros for Brunninho, making him the club’s third most expensive signing ever, alongside Frantzedi Piero and behind Matias Nahuel and Eitan Azoulay. The team is eager to integrate him quickly to strengthen their squad for the upcoming season.
