Maccabi Haifa Nears Completion of Complex Deal to Sign Brazilian Midfielder Bruninho
Maccabi Haifa is finalizing a three-way transfer deal to acquire Brazilian midfielder Bruninho, with the club preparing to welcome him to their training camp in Hungary starting Tuesday. The negotiations involve not only Bruninho's current club, Karpaty Lviv, but also Atletico Mineiro, which retains a percentage of any future sale. Bruninho expressed a strong desire to join the Israeli club as early as January and will benefit from a financial upgrade by moving to Haifa.
Coach Barak Bachar sees Bruninho as a key addition to strengthen the attacking midfield position. After resolving the final details with the involved clubs, Bruninho will undergo medical examinations before joining his new teammates at the training camp. Maccabi Haifa paid 1.6 million euros for the transfer, making Bruninho the club's third most expensive signing ever, alongside Frantzedi Piero and behind Matias Nahuel and Eitan Azoulay.
The club announced the agreement following initial reports on renewed negotiations, and the transfer is expected to be completed imminently to integrate Bruninho into the squad ahead of the upcoming season.
