Maccabi Haifa Signs Brazilian Midfielder Bruninho for Three Years
After nearly two years of negotiations, Maccabi Haifa has finalized an agreement to sign Brazilian forward midfielder Bruno de Silva, known as Bruninho, from Ukrainian club Karpaty Lviv. The club announced on Sunday that Bruninho, 26, will join the team pending medical examinations and will then sign a three-year contract. Following the signing, he will join Maccabi Haifa's training camp in Hungary.
Bruninho developed in Brazil at Atletico Mineiro's academy before moving to Karpaty Lviv. Initial talks began in January, but the deal stalled due to a roughly 800,000 euro gap between the clubs. Despite the delay, Bruninho expressed his desire to move to Israel to his new coach. Six months later, the two sides reached an agreement, allowing the transfer to proceed.
Maccabi Haifa's acquisition of Bruninho is expected to strengthen their midfield options as they prepare for the upcoming season.
