Maccabi Haifa Signs Brazilian Midfielder Bruninho for Three Years

Maccabi Haifa officially announced the signing of Brazilian midfielder Bruno Roberto Pereira da Silva, known as Bruninho, on Thursday. The 26-year-old completed medical tests and signed a three-year contract after the club finalized his transfer from Ukrainian side Karpaty Lviv. Bruninho will join the team’s training camp in Hungary starting Friday.

Born in Brazil and standing 1.75 meters tall, Bruninho developed in Atletico Mineiro’s youth system and debuted for their senior team in the 2018/19 season. He has since played for several Brazilian clubs including Recife, Confiança, Juventude, CRB, Guarani, and Ceará. In September 2024, he was loaned to Karpaty Lviv before signing permanently. Over two seasons in Ukraine, he scored 17 goals and provided 8 assists across all competitions.

Maccabi Haifa’s sporting director Lior Rafaelov expressed enthusiasm about the signing, noting the club had monitored Bruninho for a long time and believed he fits the team’s style and philosophy. Bruninho himself said he was excited to join a big club like Maccabi Haifa and eager to meet the fans and help the team achieve its goals. The club plans to give him time to acclimate and expects him to contribute significantly with proper support and teamwork.
