Tens of Thousands of Israelis Abroad Spend Thousands to Vote in Upcoming Election
Summarized from i24NEWS English by baba
Tens of thousands of Israelis living abroad are spending thousands of dollars to fly back to Israel to vote in the upcoming October 27 election, as Israel is one of the few democracies requiring in-person voting. Many feel a strong sense of duty due to the current political climate, the war, and the hostage crisis. Their collective votes could significantly influence the election's close outcome. The government has shown little interest in changing the laws, partly due to concerns about foreign interference and potential benefits to the opposition.
