Defense Minister Israel Katz stated on Sunday that "in recent days we are identifying attempts by our enemies, led by Iran and its proxies, to advance attacks that will affect the results of the elections in Israel." Speaking at the completion ceremony of an officers' course, Katz described the Iranian regime as being at its weakest point ever, suggesting this could lead it to take extreme measures against Israel.

Katz conveyed a clear message to Iran: "We identify your attempts, we are prepared to thwart them, and we are ready to strike you with full force. If Iran attacks Israel, Iran will burn!" He vowed that anyone who attacks Israel, before or after the elections, or harms IDF soldiers or Israeli citizens, "will pay the heaviest price." He assured that alongside the IDF and all security branches, Israel will continue to defend the country at all times and places.

Katz also mentioned his recent visit to Lebanon to bolster IDF commanders and soldiers operating in security zones in Lebanon and Syria, aiming to protect residents of the Galilee and Golan Heights from jihadist threats. He reiterated that Israel will not withdraw from these security zones, and if Hezbollah joins Iran in an attack, it will face severe blows. He outlined plans to expand Israel's security zone in southern Lebanon, potentially turning additional areas into a permanent zone, and to evacuate the entire Shia population north of the Awali and Zahrani rivers to enable powerful strikes against terror infrastructure and neutralize drone threats to northern communities. He also stated that Beirut's Dahiyeh neighborhood would be evacuated and its terror infrastructure struck, displacing over a million Shia civilians.

Regarding Gaza, Katz reported that the IDF controls approximately 70% of the territory, cleared of residents and terror infrastructure, to protect Israeli settlements. He stated that terrorists involved in the October 7th events are being eliminated daily, with 4,000 already killed and an additional 2,000 targeted for elimination.
