The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced on Tuesday the elimination of the terrorist, a terrorist who was part of the cell that kidnapped and murdered Shani Louk on October 7. Al-Saba'a was killed in the Gaza Strip's Jabalia area on Monday. The IDF stated that his elimination represents an important "closing of the circle" for the military and the Shin Bet, who will continue to act forcefully against terrorists involved in the October 7 massacre. This brings the total to four out of five Nukhba terrorists involved in Louk's case who have been eliminated, with the fifth currently detained in Israel.

Shani Louk, 22, was among the first victims whose abduction to Gaza was documented on October 7. A video showed her lifeless body in a pickup truck surrounded by Hamas terrorists, a scene that garnered widespread international media attention. The AP photographer who documented the abduction, Ali Mahmoud, won an award for the image, and Louk's father stated at the time that he was "glad this picture was published because it is important. This is Israel's case to show what is evil."

Louk's family was informed on October 30, 2023, that she was no longer alive. Six months later, on May 17, 2024, her body, along with those of hostages Amit Buskila, Ron Benjamin, and Yitzhak Gelerenter, was recovered from a tunnel in Jabalia during a special operation by the IDF and Shin Bet. The recovery operation involved Battalion 202's combat team, Yahalom unit, and Unit 504, with intelligence and collection efforts managed by the Shin Bet and the Hostages and Missing Persons Directorate.

The five Nukhba terrorists identified as involved in Louk's kidnapping and murder are Mustafa Ala Khatib, who is detained; Mustafa Shaheen, eliminated on October 10, 2023; Basel Saleh, eliminated on December 6, 2023; Attia Da'our, eliminated on August 20, 2025; and Tamer al-Saba'a, eliminated yesterday.

Separately, the IDF announced the elimination of Akram Bassam Sha'aban Yassin, a senior official in Hamas's General Security Mechanism in Gaza. This mechanism is a secretive body responsible for the security of Hamas leaders, including intelligence gathering on Israeli forces. The IDF stated that Yassin's elimination is part of an ongoing effort to degrade the mechanism's capabilities and that he had recently been advancing terror plots against Israeli forces and civilians while systematically violating the ceasefire. He was eliminated in an airstrike.
