The "Ayona" woodworking shop in Kibbutz Be'eri, established by Yonat Or, who was murdered on October 7, was completely destroyed by a fire that broke out Monday night. Firefighters determined the blaze resulted from production processes.

Or founded the boutique furniture business in 2015, turning it into a thriving enterprise specializing in unique vintage pieces. She and her husband, Dror Or, were killed by Hamas terrorists on October 7, after managing to help their children, Noam and Alma, escape through a safe room window. Their other child, Yahali, is also orphaned. Noam and Alma were held hostage in Gaza for 50 days and released, while Dror's body was returned after 781 days.

Despite the devastating loss and destruction, the family and workshop staff are committed to rebuilding the business in Or's memory. "This place is more than a workshop to me, it's a life's work, and it will rise again," said Dana Or, Dror Or's sister. Avitar Stern, a kibbutz member and the workshop's manager, added, "We will make every effort to rebuild it, in the spirit of beloved Yonat, with an entire kibbutz behind us."

The "Ayona" team posted on Instagram, "We have suffered a severe blow. The team is strong, and we promise to respond to all our customers in the coming days."
