A highly unusual argument occurred between Beitar Jerusalem players the player and Jordan Shua over who would take a free kick during a match against Maccabi Tel Aviv at Teddy Stadium. The incident, which took place just before halftime, saw Shua gesturing towards the bench, seemingly indicating he had been instructed to take the set piece. The player, holding the ball, refused to hand it over to Shua, attempting to hide it behind his back while Shua made several attempts to retrieve it. Player Omer Atzili and Tomer Yosefi were also involved in the dispute, with Atzili attempting to mediate. Ultimately, the player conceded, throwing the ball onto the grass in frustration and walking away.
