Israeli land authority inspectors, backed by the Yoav police unit, demolished approximately 170 illegal structures on Monday morning in the Negev region. The structures, including homes, sheds, and livestock pens, were built on state land that had been illegally occupied in the Abu-Kritan and Mishor Rotem areas. In Abu-Kritan, court orders were executed to clear about 158 dunams (approximately 39 acres) containing around 90 structures. These included homes inhabited by roughly 120 people, as well as animal pens, sheds, stone buildings, and a building materials store. The court ruled that the occupants had no legal rights to the land. In the Al-Misk area of Mishor Rotem, approximately 380 dunams (about 94 acres) with about 80 structures were cleared. According to the Israel Land Authority, these actions address repeated illegal land seizures by dozens of individuals and families who reoccupied the plots without authorization. Those responsible for the illegal occupation will also be required to pay the costs associated with clearing the land.
