Israeli defender Roy Revivo played a full 90 minutes for Elche in their 0-0 draw against Villarreal in Spain's La Liga on Saturday. The result extended Elche's unbeaten streak to three league matches, though they remain below the relegation zone with 7 points after 9 rounds. Revivo was instrumental in maintaining a clean sheet, Elche's second consecutive in the league, a feat not achieved since 2022. He was involved in the game's most dramatic moment in the 60th minute when he appeared to draw a penalty after being fouled in the box by Alberto Moleiro. However, a VAR review overturned the initial penalty call.
Villarreal, who entered the match after a Champions League victory over Napoli, have struggled to find consistent form domestically, accumulating 9 points from a possible 27 and currently sitting in 9th place. Despite the draw, Elche will look to secure their first win since the international break when they face Rayo Vallecano next Saturday. Villarreal's goalkeeper Matias Dituro was a standout performer, making several crucial saves to deny Elche a victory. Thomas Lemar also tested Villarreal's defense, but his shot was saved by goalkeeper Victor Golach.
