The incident began earlier Friday when police received a report of an armed individual in an olive grove. Two civilians, including an MDA medic, initially approached the suspect, who was lying down with his face covered and wearing khaki-colored military-style uniforms, believing him to be an injured soldier. When they tried to wake him, he became startled, grabbed a weapon beside him, and fled.
During the search, there was also suspicion of an explosive device, with a bag containing a suspicious object found near where the suspect fled. It remains unclear if the object was a real explosive or a dummy, and its connection to the suspect is being investigated.
