Manchester City Reach Agreement to Sign Elliot Anderson

Manchester City have agreed a deal with Nottingham Forest to sign 23-year-old midfielder Elliot Anderson, according to David Ornstein of The Athletic. The move comes after several weeks of talks, and Anderson is expected to join once he finalizes his personal terms.

City reportedly improved their offer to break the deadlock between the clubs. Earlier this month, they had already tabled a bid of £106 million, which with bonuses could have risen to more than £120 million. Forest had hoped for a fixed fee higher than the £125 million Liverpool paid Newcastle for Alexander Isak last summer, but the sides have now reached an understanding that should complete the transfer.

Anderson joined Nottingham Forest in 2024 in a deal from Newcastle and has since made 92 appearances for the club. Last season he played in every Premier League match, scoring four goals and providing four assists. His form also earned him a call-up to the England national team.

Anderson made his international debut in September, was included in Thomas Tuchel's World Cup squad, and started England's first two matches in the tournament.
