A delegation of rabbis from the organization "Darchei Torah" from Israel, the US, and Europe visited Belarus last week to inaugurate the restored Beit Midrash (study hall) of the Radin Yeshiva. The day concluded with prayers and inspiration in Volozhin, at the famous yeshiva and the grave of Rabbi Chaim of Volozhin.
The new Beit Midrash, named "Heichal Darchei Torah," was restored to its former glory through the initiative of Rabbi Moshe Fima, who oversees the Radin Yeshiva complex. The inauguration ceremony featured speeches by Rabbis Ephraim Waxman and Avraham Salaim, and a general lecture by Rabbi David Cohen. The president of Darchei Torah, identified only as Hagar David Hofshter, delivered the founding address for the new study hall.
Following the inauguration, the delegation proceeded to the Radin cemetery to visit the Chafetz Chaim's grave. There, Rabbis Yechiel Michel Steinmetz and Uri Deutsch delivered words of encouragement. Psalms for the welfare of the Jewish people were recited with great emotion by Rabbis Shimon Galai and Shmuel Eliezer Stern. A "Book of Heroes," containing over 100,000 names of Darchei Torah learners, was placed on the holy site, commemorating those studying the daily Halacha (Jewish law) and the daily page.
A special prayer composed for the rabbis' journey, seeking success for all Darchei Torah learners and the entire Torah world, was recited by Rabbi Masaud Ben Shimon. The delegation then traveled to Volozhin, where they prayed the afternoon service in the recently renovated Volozhin Yeshiva hall. They then walked to the cemetery to visit the grave of Rabbi Chaim of Volozhin, where Rabbi Shariel Rosenberg delivered words of inspiration and psalms were recited.
