Reserve Master Sergeant Basel Suweid Killed in Operational Accident in Southern Lebanon
Reserve Master Sgt. Basel Suweid, 32, from Peki'in, was killed overnight in an operational accident in southern Lebanon, the military cleared for publication on Thursday morning, June 26, 2025. The vehicle he was traveling in overturned in the village of Raba al-Thalathin.
Another soldier was injured in the same incident and evacuated to a hospital in Israel. The accident occurred on Wednesday at around 11 p.m., during ongoing IDF activity in the village.
Israeli forces have been operating in Raba al-Thalathin since the start of the maneuver in Operation Lion’s Roar. Suweid’s vehicle overturned for reasons that are still unclear.
The IDF is now investigating the circumstances of the serious incident.
