Tel Aviv District police have arrested a 22-year-old Jaffa resident suspected of murdering one man and critically injuring another in a shooting incident in Jaffa on August 30. The shooting occurred early in the morning on Leib Ben-Sarah Street, where officers responding to a report of gunfire found two men with gunshot wounds. Both were rushed to Wolfson Medical Center, where one, a Jaffa resident, was pronounced dead. The other victim was in serious condition.

Investigators believe the suspect, riding a Soron motorcycle, ambushed the victims who were inside a parked car, opened fire, and fled the scene. Tel Aviv District Commander Superintendent Chaim Sergrov and Ayalon Subdistrict Commander Superintendent Daniel Hadad surveyed the scene, and the investigation was assigned to the Tel Aviv District Detective Unit (YAMAR).

Following extensive investigative efforts, detectives identified the suspect, also a Jaffa resident. He was apprehended on the evening of September 2. A search of his residence yielded a Sig Sauer pistol with a magazine and ammunition. The suspect was taken for questioning by YAMAR Tel Aviv.

During the complex investigation, detectives gathered evidence implicating the suspect in the murder. His arrest has been extended by the Tel Aviv Magistrate's Court, and the District Prosecutor's Office is expected to file a severe indictment and a request for his detention until the end of legal proceedings in the coming days.
