Israeli motorcycle racer Ido Chen, 22, achieved a second-place finish in the Aprilia Racing RS 457 Cup race held at the Misano circuit in Italy. The event was part of the final round of the Coppa Italia Velocità.

Chen, who hails from Hod Hasharon, started the 10-lap race from sixth position among 24 competitors. He was involved in a close battle with six other riders for the lead throughout the race, at times leading himself. Ultimately, he crossed the finish line just 0.301 seconds behind the winner.

During the race, Chen recorded a fast lap time of 1:53.297 minutes and reached speeds of approximately 200 km/h on the straightaways. He competed on a 2026 Aprilia RS 457, a 457cc race bike used by all participants in this specific Aprilia cup.

Chen recently completed his service in the IDF, where he was recognized as an outstanding athlete. In Israel, he is the reigning national champion and competes on an Aprilia RS 660. His training primarily takes place at the Fatzal track, supplemented by strength and endurance workouts.

In Italy, Chen was supported by the Italian team Team MMR and his father, Eli Chen, a veteran racer and driving instructor who assisted with the motorcycle's setup. "I felt throughout the race that I could fight for the win," Chen stated after the event. "Every move was planned and calculated. On the last lap, I made a small calculation error, but I'm taking a lot from the race for the future."

Chen's next goal is to participate in an international series next season, aiming to advance towards the World Championship in the Superbike category. His sponsors include Berik, Fatzal Track, Lert Company, and Eli Chen's Driving School.
