Skoda has unveiled the PEAQ, its new large electric SUV and the brand’s first seven-seat EV, positioned as the electric equivalent of the Kodiaq. The company says the name combines the letter Q, used for its SUV line, with “peak,” signaling a flagship model. Champion Motors, Skoda’s importer in Israel, said the PEAQ is expected to arrive only in the second half of 2027.
The PEAQ is built on Volkswagen Group’s MEB electric platform and is larger than the Kodiaq in every major dimension. It is 4.87 meters long, 1.87 meters wide, 1.66 meters high, with a 2.96-meter wheelbase. Cargo space is 299 liters, plus a 37-liter front trunk for the charging cable and the rear shelf. Skoda says it can tow up to 1,800 kg in one version and 2,000 kg in the top version, although that is still 500 kg less than the Kodiaq diesel. The design is inspired by the Vision 7S concept, with T-shaped lighting, hidden door handles, 19- to 21-inch wheels, and a drag coefficient of 0.249 Cd. A Sportline trim will also be offered.
Inside, the PEAQ introduces Skoda’s new cabin design with a two-level dashboard, a 10.25-inch instrument display, and a 13.6-inch floating vertical multimedia screen, both firsts for the brand. It also gets wireless charging, physical climate controls, a fold-out table, ambient lighting, reclining front seats with footrests, Matrix LED headlights, 360-degree cameras, augmented-reality head-up display, a 16-speaker Sonos system, heated steering wheel, AGR seats, adaptive suspension, a 230-volt outlet, and a 2.1-square-meter panoramic roof. Safety systems include Travel Assist, junction cross-traffic alert, and driver monitoring.
Three powertrains will be offered initially, called 60, 90, and 90X. The entry 60 uses a 59-kWh net NMC battery, rear-wheel drive, 204 hp, 0 to 100 kph in 8.5 seconds, up to 459 km of range, 6.5 hours for AC charging, and 27 minutes for 10 to 80 percent on 160-kW fast charging. The 90 has an 86-kWh battery, 286 hp, 7.1 seconds to 100 kph, up to 647 km of range, 9 hours AC charging, and 28 minutes on 199-kW fast charging. The 90X adds all-wheel drive, 299 hp, 0 to 100 kph in 6.8 seconds, and 613 km of range.
