A memorial and awakening gathering was held Monday night at the Wassuloi synagogue in the Ramat Aharon neighborhood of Bnei Brak to mark the shiva for Rabbi Chaim Dov Halperin, who had died recently. Halperin was the son of the Wassuloi Rebbe and the son-in-law of the Bohush Rebbe.
A large crowd attended the event, where several rabbis and Torah teachers delivered eulogies and words of reflection. Among the speakers were his brother, Rabbi Yitzchak Halperin, his brother-in-law Rabbi Avraham Chaim Frenkel, Rabbi Yisrael Aharonson, Rabbi Mordechai Uri Engelman, rabbi and head of the rabbinical court for western Rishon Lezion, Rabbi Yisrael Zushia Horowitz, rabbi and head of the rabbinical court for Hasidic communities in Elad, and his son-in-law Rabbi Eliezer Zusia Shtern.
The gathering was presented as a public expression of mourning and inspiration on the seventh day after Halperin's passing, bringing together family members, rabbis, and local worshippers in the Bnei Brak synagogue.
