Large Turnout Marks Funeral of Rabbi Chaim Dov Halperin in Bnei Brak

By משה ויסברג
Translated & summarized from Behadrei Haredim by baba
The story · English

A large crowd, led by Hasidic rebbes and rabbis, took part in the funeral procession for Rabbi Chaim Dov Halperin, head of the Waslovy study hall in Bnei Brak. He was the son of the Waslovy rebbe and the son-in-law of the Bohush rebbe.

The funeral began at the Waslovy study hall on Sorotzkin Street in Bnei Brak, where Psalms were recited. Rabbi Yitzchak Shmuel Schwartz, rabbi of the Chisdah synagogue, delivered the first eulogy, followed by a farewell from Halperin’s brother, Rabbi Yitzchak Halperin, on behalf of the family and the study hall regulars. The sons then recited Kaddish.

The procession continued to the Bohush study hall on Hagi Street, where Rabbi Tobias, rabbi of the Bohush community, and Rabbi David Feinstein, head of Yeshivat Beit Yehuda, offered eulogies. After another Kaddish by the sons, the funeral moved to the cemetery at Nachalat Yitzhak in Givatayim.

There, the Boyaner rebbe, who came במיוחד from Jerusalem, was waiting. The article is accompanied by photographs by Yehuda Perkovitz.
