This week, the Hayei Aharon institutions, led by Rabbi Yosef Ben Hamo, held a large memorial celebration for the Or HaChaim in Gafna Halls, attended by many supporters and friends of the schools. The gathering was described as an uplifting event in honor of Torah and in memory of the revered Or HaChaim, of blessed memory.
Before the main program, a ceremony was held in the study hall to remove the curtain from the new Beit Midrash and to dedicate the new kollel for young married scholars, named Tehilat Efrayim. The kollel was established in memory of Rabbi Ephraim Ben Shushan, of blessed memory, through the donation of his son-in-law, Rabbi Yehuda Shimoni.
The evening opened with a large public Maariv prayer, followed by a siyum marking the completion of Seder Zeraim by the scholar Rabbi Shimon Kadush. The event featured words of inspiration from Hacham Nissim Ben Shimon, Rabbi Shmuel Machpud, a member of the Council of Torah Sages, Rabbi Moshe Toledano, Chief Rabbi of Jerusalem, Rabbi Yosef Weinberger, Chief Rabbi of Tashba, Rabbi Shlomo Revivo, head of Talmud Torah David, and Rabbi Refael Mazuz, who all spoke about Torah study, reverence for Heaven, and supporting Torah learners.
Also present were Deputy Bnei Brak mayors Shlomo Elharar and Eliyahu Shushan, council religious authority chairman Yechiel Levi, city council member Shlomo Haddad, and Bnei Brak religious council appointee Yosef Bar Sheshet. The program was hosted by Rabbi Shimon Peretz and ended with a strong sense of inspiration, with participants leaving encouraged to increase Torah study and support its institutions.
