Maccabi Tel Aviv announced on Tuesday that Kenny Miller has been appointed head coach of the senior team for the 2026-27 season, with an option for one more year. Miller, 46, joined the club in January as part of the coaching staff and was later named interim coach during the playoffs, before being handed the permanent role after that spell on the touchline.
Under Miller, Maccabi Tel Aviv won the State Cup, adding another trophy to the club's cabinet. Owner Mitch Goldhar said Miller had earned great appreciation since arriving because of his professionalism, work ethic and understanding of the standards and values expected at Maccabi Tel Aviv.
Sporting director Steven van Haeren said the appointment fits the club's long-term sporting plans and reflects an approach built on high performance, adaptability and a clear style of play. Miller thanked the club for its trust and said it was a great honor to lead the team. "From the moment I arrived at the club I felt the passion, ambition and expectations that make Maccabi a special place," he said. "I look forward to continuing to work with the players and staff for the challenges ahead."
As part of preparations for the coming season, Miller will lead a coaching staff that includes goalkeeping coach Dean Kiley, new assistant coach Stuart Taylor and Avi Rikan, who will stay on. Taylor, 51, arrives after a long coaching career in Scotland, England, Ireland, Qatar and other European clubs. The club said it hopes his experience will help the staff prepare for the next season and compete for trophies at home and abroad.
