Gymnastics coach Evgeny Yordanov arrested again on suspicion of sex crimes
Police have arrested Evgeny Yordanov, a 51-year-old gymnastics coach from Kiryat Ono, on suspicion that he committed serious sex offenses against another young woman several years ago, beginning when she was a minor. The arrest came after Yordanov had already been indicted in a separate case for alleged sex offenses against two gymnasts.
He is scheduled to be brought before the Tel Aviv Magistrate’s Court today for a hearing on extending his detention. The new suspicion concerns offenses said to have taken place years ago, when the victim was underage.
