Rabbi Calls Dubai Flight Attack A Miracle Within Miracles

Rabbi David Lankri described the attempted attack on a Flydubai flight from Dubai to Tel Aviv, carrying dozens of Israelis, as a profound miracle. During the flight, the co-pilot allegedly stabbed the captain, causing the plane to enter a steep dive. Passengers and crew members managed to overpower the assailant, and the aircraft eventually landed safely in Tabuk, Saudi Arabia.

Rabbi Lankri, the rabbi of the Shemesh U'Magen community, emphasized that the incident was "a miracle within nature, but completely above nature." He highlighted the passengers' quick thinking and decisive action in subduing the attacker, stating, "The people of Israel are not suckers." He praised their intuition and courage, comparing their response to that of lions.

The rabbi rejected the notion that the successful outcome was mere luck, attributing it instead to divine providence. He detailed a series of fortunate circumstances, including the passengers' intervention, the subduing of the attacker, and the presence of individuals capable of assisting with the flight's continuation, calling it "a miracle within a miracle within a miracle within a miracle."

Rabbi Lankri suggested that such events, rather than demoralizing the nation, can strengthen faith. He concluded by expressing gratitude to God for the passengers' safety, stating, "We truly see a real embrace of God here... how God truly watches over all of Israel." He urged everyone to thank the Creator for the "miracles of miracles" that have occurred and will continue to occur for the Jewish people.
