Rabbi Links Flydubai Miracle to Divine Protection Amid Israel's Battles

Rabbi Hagi Londer has commented on the miraculous events aboard a Flydubai flight, linking the foiled terror attempt to a growing public sense in Israel of divine providence amidst ongoing conflicts. He stated that the incident's emotional impact stems not just from the dramatic thwarting of a "Satanic terror attack in the skies" but from a deeper realization among Jewish Israelis that "someone is watching over us from above."

Rabbi Londer contextualized the Flydubai incident within Israel's broader, multi-front struggle in recent years. He described a seemingly insurmountable battle on seven fronts, including external military threats, rising global antisemitism, and international isolation, noting that while Israel relies on allies like the United States, the ultimate understanding is that "we are alone against everyone."

Despite these challenges, Rabbi Londer asserted that Israel is prevailing through "sophistication, Israeli audacity, and ways beyond imagination." He acknowledged that individual events may have natural explanations, but when viewed collectively, they reveal a pattern "above all statistics."

He connected this overarching theme to the upcoming Jewish holiday of Hoshana Rabbah, explaining that while Sukkot prayers focus on specific salvation, Hoshana Rabbah seeks "the parent of all salvations", a grand, general deliverance against all odds. This sentiment, he believes, explains why hundreds of thousands of Jews will gather for study and prayer on Hoshana Rabbah and celebrate Simchat Torah, even in the shadow of the October 7th attacks, because "salvation has also grown out of October 7th."
