Ben Gurion Airport Establishes Special Zone for Flydubai Passengers' Relatives
Ben Gurion Airport has set up a dedicated reception area for relatives of passengers on a Flydubai flight. The special zone, located in Terminal 1's domestic arrivals hall, was established by order of Transportation Minister Miri Regev, according to the Israel Airports Authority. Family members can wait there for the flight's arrival and receive real-time updates.
Staff from the Israel Airports Authority are on-site to assist relatives and ensure timely information dissemination. The authority has requested that only authorized relatives use the area to maintain a calm and organized environment for those awaiting passengers.
This initiative follows recent disruptions in Israeli air travel during the autumn holidays, which saw over half of flights delayed, causing significant passenger waits and uncertainty. Previously, a Flydubai flight from Dubai to Israel was diverted due to an incident in the cockpit that reportedly caused panic among passengers, with one witness describing screams and blood, leading to an emergency landing in Saudi Arabia.
