Ben Gurion Airport Opens Special Area for Families of Diverted Flydubai Flight

Following an unusual incident where a Flydubai flight from Dubai to Ben Gurion Airport was diverted and landed in Tabuk, Saudi Arabia, the Israel Airports Authority has opened a special reception area for the passengers' families. The facility, located in Terminal 1 at Ben Gurion Airport, was established under the directive of Transportation Minister Miri Regev.

The designated area aims to provide a comfortable and organized space for families to wait, receive updates, and get assistance from Airports Authority representatives as information about the passengers' onward journey becomes available. The authority has requested that individuals not directly related to the passengers avoid coming to the terminal to ensure efficient service for the affected families.

A Flydubai rescue flight has reportedly departed from Dubai en route to Saudi Arabia to pick up the passengers and return them to Israel. The original flight activated a distress signal before altering its course, leading to the landing in Saudi Arabia. All passengers and crew are reported to be safe, and investigations into the circumstances of the diversion are ongoing.
