Israeli Security Agencies Doubt Iranian Involvement in Dubai Flight Hijacking Attempt

Israeli security officials believe that a recent hijacking attempt on a Flydubai flight from Dubai was likely not directed by Iran, despite initial speculation. The incident involved a flight carrying mostly Israeli passengers that was en route to Israel. According to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, as the plane neared Israel, one pilot allegedly stabbed the other and attempted to crash the aircraft. Netanyahu recounted that Israeli passengers, along with a crew member, managed to overpower the assailant pilot while he was trying to sabotage the plane's systems. Another crew member then stabilized the aircraft.

Netanyahu praised the passengers and crew for their bravery, stating they prevented a major disaster. The plane made a safe emergency landing in Tabuk, Saudi Arabia, and all passengers were unharmed. The suspect pilot was apprehended and is being questioned by Saudi authorities. Israel is coordinating with relevant parties to ensure the passengers' safety and their return home.
