Gerrer Rebbe Orders Followers to Destroy Damaging Recordings

The Grand Rabbi of the Gerrer Hasidic dynasty has issued a stern directive to his followers, ordering them to immediately delete any recordings that have recently circulated within the community. The announcement, delivered by Rabbi Yitzchak Breuda, the secretary of the Rebbe's household, stated that the recordings contain "evil speech" and are causing "great sorrow" and "strife."

Breuda, speaking on behalf of the Rebbe, warned that engaging with or even possessing these recordings is a grave offense, comparable to ancient prohibitions, and requires atonement even if done unintentionally. He urged the tens of thousands of followers to completely disregard the content of these recordings and to destroy any copies they might possess without delay.

The directive comes amid widespread rumors on social media and within the community about the existence and content of these recordings, which have become a major topic of discussion among Gerrer Hasidim. The Rebbe's message emphasized the dangerous and severe nature of the material.

In a separate note, it was mentioned that the Grand Rabbi himself did not attend holiday prayers or receive visitors during the intermediate days of the festival due to weakness. The community hopes for his recovery and return to public life by Simchat Torah.

The Rebbe concluded his message by calling for unity, goodwill, and mutual love among followers, especially during the holy festival period, praying for peace and blessings upon the community.
