Rare Recordings of Rebbe's Penitential Prayers Released

Rare audio recordings have been released of the first penitential prayers, known as Selichot, recited by the holy Rebbe of Sanz-Klausenburg, Rabbi Yekutiel Yehudah Halberstam, in 1980. The recordings capture the Rebbe reciting the prayers with profound emotion, described as a son pleading before his father.

The Selichot prayers are traditionally recited in the days leading up to the High Holy Days in Judaism. This particular recitation took place on the first day of Selichot in the Hebrew year 5740 (1980), a year before the Rebbe's passing in 1981. The recordings offer a unique glimpse into the spiritual devotion of the Rebbe, who was a prominent figure in Hasidic Judaism and a survivor of the Holocaust.

Rabbi Halberstam, known for his immense suffering and resilience, established the Sanz-Klausenburg Hasidic dynasty after the Holocaust.
