Rabbi Grants Release From Vows at Modzitz Hasidic Dynasty Gathering

Rabbi Yisrael Alter, the Ger Rebbe, officiated at a ceremony for the annulment of vows held by the Modzitz Hasidic dynasty. The event took place on the eve of Rosh Hashanah, September 14, 2026, at the Ger Hasidic center in Jerusalem.

The ceremony, known as 'Hatarat Nedarim,' is a ritual performed before the High Holidays to release individuals from vows they may have made throughout the year. Rabbi Alter's participation underscores the close ties between the Ger and Modzitz Hasidic communities.

This annual event is a significant tradition for many Hasidic groups, allowing adherents to begin the new Jewish year with a clean slate, free from any religious obligations they may have inadvertently undertaken.
