Gerrer Hasidic Dynasty Reaches Landmark Peace Accord

A dramatic settlement was reached on the eve of the holiday between the Gerrer Hasidic dynasty and the community of Rabbi Shimon Alter, ending a prolonged dispute. The agreement, signed in the chambers of the President of the Magistrate's Court, saw representatives of the Gerrer Hasidism accept responsibility and commit to ceasing harassment against the opposing faction.

In return for this commitment, the plaintiffs, associated with Rabbi Shimon Alter, agreed to drop their financial lawsuit and move forward with a new chapter. Judge Shmuel Herbstein presided over the proceedings, quoting the Baal Shem Tov, the founder of Hasidism, in his remarks.
