Israelis Stranded in Saudi Arabia After Flydubai Emergency

Israeli passengers stranded in Saudi Arabia following an emergency landing of a Flydubai flight are expressing fear and frustration over their situation. The incident occurred after the aircraft experienced a sharp altitude drop, leaving passengers feeling helpless and uncertain about their return.

One passenger, Uri, told Walla news that he is hesitant to board another Flydubai flight unless absolutely necessary, citing warnings that those who filmed the incident would be subjected to further checks and potentially prevented from flying. He questioned why the Israeli government couldn't arrange for an Israeli aircraft to repatriate them, expressing concern about the risk of further incidents and the perceived lack of government assistance.

In response to the situation, Israeli airlines are preparing to assist citizens wishing to return home. El Al announced it would establish a dedicated WhatsApp hotline for booking flights from any of its destinations, even for passengers who initially departed Israel on other airlines. The airline is also reportedly preparing to send a special flight from Bangkok to Israel in the coming days.

Arkia Airlines has also stated it will increase its direct flights to Israel from Bangkok, Hanoi, and Phuket based on demand. Similar to El Al, Arkia has launched a dedicated WhatsApp service for Israelis seeking to return from the East, regardless of their original airline.
