El Al to Aid Israelis Abroad Following Flydubai Incident
El Al, Israel's national airline, is preparing to assist Israelis abroad in returning home following an incident on a Flydubai flight from Dubai to Tel Aviv. The airline has received numerous requests from Israelis seeking to fly back to Israel on El Al flights. To facilitate this, El Al plans to launch a dedicated WhatsApp line for bookings from various countries, including for passengers who previously departed Israel on other airlines.
In addition, El Al is organizing a special flight from Bangkok to Israel in the coming days to help Israelis in Thailand return. This move comes after Israeli Minister of Transport Miri Regev called on the government to halt Flydubai's flights to Ben Gurion Airport.
Flydubai operates eight daily flights between Dubai and Ben Gurion Airport. Dubai Airport is a common transit point for many Israelis traveling to Asia, the Far East, and the United States. Following the incident, El Al's shares on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange saw an increase of over 7%.
