Finance Minister Smotrich Visits Northern West Bank, Advocates for Israeli Sovereignty

Israeli Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich visited the northern West Bank during the intermediate days of the Passover holiday, addressing thousands of Israeli families who had gathered for a march and festival. Smotrich highlighted the proximity of the area to Israeli cities like Afula and Kfar Saba, framing the settlements as a "security belt" for these communities.

During the holiday period, tens of thousands of Israelis visited new farms and settlements in the region. The Religious Zionism party estimated that over 50,000 visitors came to the farms. The event concluded with a celebration in the settlement of Kedem, which, along with Ganim, was evacuated as part of the 2005 disengagement from the northern West Bank.

Smotrich expressed joy at the large turnout, calling it a "revolution of settlement" in the northern West Bank. He mentioned people marching from Ganim to Kedem and visiting other evacuated sites like Homesh and Sa-Nur, emphasizing a sense of return and optimism.

In his remarks, the minister called for further actions, including the cancellation of the Oslo Accords, the dismantling of the Palestinian Authority in Ramallah, the collection of weapons in the area, and the imposition of Israeli sovereignty. He stated the goal was to "ensure this is our land forever."
