Special Education Teacher Charged with Indecent Acts Against 14-Year-Old Student

A severe indictment has been filed against a special education teacher accused of indecent acts against her 14-year-old student. The Haifa District Prosecutor's Office alleges that the teacher engaged in a pattern of inappropriate conduct with the student throughout the school year, exploiting their dependent relationship. The indictment details numerous charges of indecent acts and unlawful penetration.

According to the indictment, the relationship began with text messages and phone calls, escalating to physical contact, including kissing for sexual gratification during school hours. The teacher and student allegedly engaged in daily video calls for months, during which they viewed each other and performed sexual acts. The teacher also allegedly asked the student to touch her intimate areas and sent her partially exposed photos.

The indictment further describes meetings in a wooded area near the school in late January 2022, where they touched each other, and the teacher kissed the student again. Another meeting occurred that week in a school bathroom, where they allegedly undressed, and the student performed a sexual act on the teacher at her request. The pair also reportedly met in a shelter, at the teacher's home, and around the school premises.

The teacher, who was the student's educator at a special education school, is accused of exploiting the student's dependency and educational relationship. The student was born in February 2007, making her approximately 14 years old at the time of the alleged incidents.

The defense attorney for the accused teacher, Tami Ullman, stated that her client denies the allegations. Ullman cited the state's five-year delay in filing the indictment as evidence of problematic investigation materials and contradictory testimony from the girl. The Northern District Prosecutor's Office noted that the alleged acts spanned a considerable period and involved multiple opportunities and encounters. The indictment is supported by a list of dozens of witnesses, including police officers and other professionals.
