Elderly Woman Killed in Gaza Envelope Truck Accident
An approximately 90-year-old pedestrian was killed early Wednesday morning in a fatal traffic accident at the entrance to Kibbutz Nir Yitzhak in the Gaza Envelope region. The woman was apparently struck by a truck on Route 3525.
Emergency medical services, including paramedics from Magen David Adom, arrived at the scene and were forced to pronounce the woman dead. "The pedestrian was lying on the road, unconscious, without a pulse and without breathing, suffering from multi-system trauma after being hit by a truck," said MDA paramedic Einav Yeshayahu. "After the medical examinations we performed, we had to determine the woman's death at the scene."
Police from the Sderot station and traffic accident investigators from the Negev region are at the scene, and an investigation into the circumstances of the fatal incident has been opened.
As of early September 2026, 337 people have been killed in traffic accidents across Israel since the beginning of the year, including 77 pedestrians.
